Independence Squares is Philadelphia’s Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual and Transgendered square dance club. The club teaches classes in the Mainstream, Plus, Advanced and Challenge 2 programs of modern Western square dancing. The call lists are those used by Callerlab[tm]. Classes are open to all, and membership is contingent on completing the Mainstream program and paying dues. Dances are open to all dancers who have proficiency up to the level being danced. Current membership is approximately a 60/40 male/female ratio.

Join Us for A Summer Open House - No Experience Necessary!

Come see what square dancing is all about at one of our summer open houses! No experience required, no partner required, no special clothes or shoes required (flip-flops probably won't work though).

Open houses happen on the following dates - all of them Tuesdays. They run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and are held at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion. The entrance we use is at 2111 Sansom St.
